Whether you’d like a “quick” 2-hour consultation to jump start your own design progress or a full-service room design, all of our services are based on an hourly fee. If you don’t see something that fits your needs below, let’s talk!

2-HOUR DESIGN CONSULT (YOUR “WAKE-UP CALL”)

It's your two hours to spend how you like!  We'll get a lot done. We can select paint colors, move furniture around or even hang some artwork. My time is yours. We'll talk about how you want your home to feel and ways you can achieve your vision, from new lighting and accessories to furniture and art. And if you don't have a vision, we'll get one brewing. This service is for you if you're looking for a new color palette, maybe some window treatment or flooring ideas, or simply some quick professional design advice to set you in the right direction. Perfect if you're on the hunt for furniture, artwork or rugs - I'll give you size parameters and color suggestions so you know what to hunt!  For a more in-depth service that includes a detailed list of suggested items to purchase, check out our Room Design service.

Cost: $450 for 2 hours on-site. This includes the real-time notes I take during our meeting and links to any items we “shop” while together. If you’d like mock-ups or more detailed notes based on our meeting, I’m happy to head back to the office and continue working for you after we meet in person. Additional cost is based on $175/hr rate and we’ll determine the cap together based on your scope. For more than simple sketches and real time notes, check out the Room Design below.

ROOM DESIGN

This is your two-hour consultation with some serious bells and whistles. Whether you want (or need) to start from scratch or you want to make changes over time, I'll create a specific plan to help you get there. We'll look at photos of rooms together, talk about what works for you and what doesn't, and help you figure out what you really want. I'll measure your space, take photos, talk budget, and float some ideas to make sure we're on the same page. Then back at the office I'll create mock-ups, top-down layouts and 2D renderings of furnishings to help you visualize. My followup summary will include a detailed list of specific suggestions with links and current pricing and all of the pertinent info about how and where to purchase. This service is for you if you've heard yourself say "I'm overwhelmed" or "I know what I like, but I have no idea how to make it happen" or "I wish someone would just tell me what to buy!"

Cost: The below prices are typical starting prices and are based on square footage, but also function. They also assume we're starting with an empty space. (If it's not an empty space, let's talk - I work with your budget!)

KITCHEN & BATH DESIGN

I'll help you choose the right materials to create the gorgeous kitchen or bath you've been picturing in your mind. I'll meet with you in your home to check out the scope of the project and discuss the overall game plan, then take a field trip to actually choose materials. (If you want design ideas without a road trip, see the 2-hour design consultation above).

I love to help you make decisions! You'll be able to check off all those items on your list for the remodel: plumbing hardware, cabinet knobs and pulls, lighting, flooring, tile, mosaic, grout color, countertop material, sink style, paint color. I'll sketch up how the tile should be laid to show the tile installer. For kitchens, we'll choose the best cabinet style/color for your space and I'm happy to work with your cabinet maker/kitchen designer on the best drawer and cabinet configurations (and what you might put inside). For bathrooms, I'll help you choose your vanity and glass enclosure or shower curtain. We'll find mirrors, light fixtures, towel bars, toilet paper holders - every detail down to the soap dish.

This is the service for you if you're facing a renovation or working on new construction and your contractor is starting to ask questions and you feel pressured to provide answers but you don't have time and time is running out and you don't want to make a hasty decision. (Insert big breath here.) If you just need a little help with choosing your countertop, backsplash or flooring, check out our 2-hour Design Consult instead.

LIGHTING PLAN

Light fixtures don’t just provide light - they are a way to add character to your home. And beyond looks, they have to be practical and functional too.

Finding a light fixture that a) you like, b) is the right size, c) the right finish, d) casts the right light and e) is practical for the space… can be tricky. If you’ve ever attempted to choose new light fixtures either on-line or in a lighting gallery, the words “I don’t have time for this” might have crossed your mind.

Maybe the fixtures that the previous owner put up just aren’t doing it for you…or the light in your home has always felt just a little bit “off.”

This is the service for you if you’d like a cohesive lighting plan for your home. If you’ve already started and feel a little stuck, or if you haven’t even begun to think about it, but know those old lights just have to go, we’ll come up with scenarios that include mock-ups of your space, and collages so you can see how all of the fixtures relate.

Cost: $150 per fixture/3 scenarios. (Here’s a typical first floor example: kitchen island pendants + kitchen ceiling light + kitchen table light + dining table chandelier + hallway lights + foyer chandelier = 6 fixtures = $900 for 3 scenarios, includes refining within the scenario you like best.)

PULLING IT ALL TOGETHER

So you've bought all of your furniture, lighting, area rugs, and artwork but need some help implementing the plan. Our maybe you just want to shake things up - you don't necessarily want to buy anything new, but want a new look. This is where the hourly rate makes the most sense. I'm swift and efficient but thoughtful - I won't put extra holes in your walls when hanging or re-positioning your artwork. I've got furniture mover tools to keep from scratching your floors. And I won't touch anything you say is off-limits.

I love the gratification that comes from working with all of the elements in your space, arranging the room and creating a beautiful living space. It's the heart of what I do. My goal is to hear you say "wow" at the end of our visit!

Cost: $225/hr for the first 2 hours and $175/hr thereafter. Depending on the scope, pulling it all together typically takes 3-4 hours per room. If we’re doing a full room overhaul, we should plan on a full 8 hour day. I'll tell you up front how long I think it will take.

BOOKCASE DESIGN AND DECOR

That empty space keeps calling out to you. Hmm… does the empty space need a built-in? Or maybe you already have a built-in and no matter what you put into it, something is still a little “off”?

To design a built-in bookcase, media cabinet or other display/storage area, I provide plans that your contractor can use to create a unit that is not only gorgeous, but also allows for display and useful storage.

And if you already have a built-in, I can help you figure out (and even shop for) what goes in it. We’ll have a planning session (in person or virtual) to talk about the type of items you’d like to display, and the sizes, shapes, colors and number of item that will work best. Once all of the items to display have been gathered, we schedule a time for me to create the display. We can either work together while I show you tips as we go, or I can do it all myself.

Built-in Design Cost: Per-design fee starts at $450 and depends on the size/complexity of the built-in.

Display Planning and Implementation: $225/hr for the first 2 hours and $175/hr thereafter. Depending on the size of the built-in, hands-on display typically takes 3 hours (1 hour to plan and 2 hrs to implement). If you’d like for me to shop for you, let’s discuss!

MOVING CONSULTATION

You're moving but aren't sure what to move or where to put it when it's moved. I visit with you in your current home (if you're far away, I either travel or rely on photos and measurements), then visit your new space and create a game plan. I provide 2D layouts so you know where to point the movers when they're holding your couch and ask you where it goes. Or I can be there on move-day to do the pointing and help "pull it all together" (see above).

This is the service for you if you are buying a different or even a second home, if you’re down-sizing, or just need help deciding what furniture will actually work for you in the new space.

Cost: $450 for a 2-hour “walk and talk” consultation, plus each top-down furniture layout in a single room is $200.

TURN-KEY (ENTIRE HOUSE DESIGN & SET-UP)

Congratulations! You're building, renovating or buying something new to you. Starting from scratch is an exhilarating but sometimes scary process, and suddenly you're faced with more questions than you'd ever dream of having to answer (for the record, we think that choosing the finish on your door hinges shouldn't keep you up at night). We meet, learn about how you plan to use the spaces in your new home, then put together a plan. I work with your contractor to make sure the materials and finishes we choose fit in the budget. I’ll help you choose paint and stain colors and whatever else you need - flooring, plumbing hardware, light fixtures, cabinetry, countertops, tile, sinks, door hinge finish, the list goes on.

As your contractor does their magic, installing all of the materials and fixtures we’ve chosen, I create room designs with the furniture, artwork and accessories that will transform those new empty rooms into gorgeous living spaces. Once designed, I place orders, track and meet deliveries, then put it all together to create your beautiful, brand new home.

ORDERING, PURCHASING, MEETING DELIVERIES

Many of my clients like to do the ordering, purchasing and meeting of deliveries. But who has the time? I'm happy to take care of these logistics. I'll work with you to determine a fair price for this service, based on the scope of the project and your needs.
