A favorite trick of redesigners is to "play the angles" in a room. We don't do it all the time, but in this case, we couldn't resist! The before picture on the left is a classic example of what happens to most of us when we move. The movers haul in our furnishings, push them against the wall, and leave. Where they sit. And sit. Sometimes for years.
Our client had had enough and called us in to make it all better. There just wasn't any "flow." Here, we started by bringing the furniture off of the walls, then -you guessed it- played the angles. The result? Guests are drawn into the living room and feel a natural pull to enjoy the view from the couch. With the furniture away from the walls, there is now a refreshing "light and airy" feeling about the place.
Don't settle for keeping your furniture where the movers put it! Experiment with different looks, putting "air" between the couch and the wall, even playing the angles, if you dare!
